The Asia-Pacific Association for the Research and Treatment of Personality Disorders (AART-PD) continues to support clinicians, researchers, students, and people with lived experience through its growing program of educational and networking activities across the region.
AART-PD hosts regular online Education Sessions throughout the year, providing accessible opportunities to hear from leading researchers, expert clinicians, and lived experience speakers on contemporary issues in personality disorder assessment, treatment, and service delivery. Recent sessions have explored topics including personality disorder and neurodevelopmental presentations, lived experience perspectives, trauma-informed care, and advances in treatment approaches. These sessions attract participants from across Australia, New Zealand, and the broader Asia-Pacific region and are offered free of charge to members and interested professionals.
In September 2026, AART-PD successfully hosted its inaugural conference, bringing together clinicians, researchers, students, and lived experience advocates from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. The conference featured keynote addresses, scientific presentations, workshops, and panel discussions focused on advancing research, improving treatment outcomes, and strengthening collaboration across disciplines and countries. The congress highlighted emerging research, innovative service models, and the central role of lived experience in shaping personality disorder policy, practice, and recovery-oriented care.
As AART-PD membership and engagement continue to grow, the organisation remains committed to fostering collaboration, promoting evidence-based practice, supporting professional development, and strengthening the regional personality disorder community.
