ATTENDING ISSPD CONGRESS

 

Attending the ISSPD Congress is a wonderful opportunity for students and trainees to participate in a global gathering of renowned clinicians, researchers, and experts in the field of personality disorders.

The student-focused events at the ISSPD Congress 2023 will provide a unique opportunity for you to connect with fellow students, share ideas, and gain valuable insights from experts in the field. You will also have the chance to network with professionals from around the world, build your professional network, and learn about the latest developments and research findings in the area of personality disorders.

The following events will be offered for students:

  • Methods Workshop
  • Informal Student-Academic Networking Lunch: An excellent opportunity for students to meet and connect with academics in the field of personality disorders ideas
  • Student Social Event: An opportunity to socialize and have a fun night out in Sydney with other students from around the world who share an interest in the area of personality disorders
  • Student Posters: We encourage you to submit a poster to showcase your research. There will be an award presented for the best student poster. No prior application is required; all posters will be automatically eligible and judged based on a combination of scientific merit and clarity of presentation. Poster submissions will be open until October 20th!

Stephanie Römer

Stephanie is a psychologist and a PhD (Clinical Psychology) student at the University of Wollongong, Australia. She has been working as a psychologist in the Netherlands and Austria. Stephanie is also a Research Fellow at Project Air Strategy, currently investigating early interventions for young people with emerging personality disorder as well as evaluating a brief intervention program.

Peru

Alejandra is a Venezuelan psychologist and psychotherapist who graduated from the Andrés Bello Catholic University in Caracas, Venezuela and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. She has training in Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and General Psychiatric Management (GPM) for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

She is also part of the team of therapists at the Peruvian Institute for the Study and Comprehensive Approach to Personality (IPEP), where she provides assessment and psychotherapy for personality disorders. She is currently pursuing a certification as a TFP therapist from the International Society of Transference Focused Psychotherapy (ISTFP).

She is interested in researching personality disorders, especially borderline and narcissistic personality disorders and their treatment from psychodynamic perspectives such as Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP) and Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT).
